By utilizing the latest internet technologies, we want to create an environment of communication, not just through cyberspace, but one that encourages local interaction. .

Our on-going mission is to provide consumers with useful and healthy services for their animals and themselves by giving them access to businesses and services within the consumers' physical community. We believe in the power of small business and know that conscientious business practises coupled with open communication creates a foundation for success and ultimately to stronger communities. Working together and supporting one another is a crucial key to a prosperous community, especially during these challenging economic times.

The basis of our network of sites is really about our pets, but the side effect we hope is the realization that we all need each other - no matter where we live, how many legs we have or the color of our fur.

Understanding other types of pets can bring about a change in attitude, opening your mind about all living creatures, dispelling myths, quelling fears, and even increasing your appreciation for your own pet!

Initially, it may be difficult to understand why someone would choose a tarantula over a kitten, but it does not mean that both pet parents love their pet any less than the other. We all have our differences, our likes and dislikes, but the common thread is the love of our pets and that is one thing we can all agree upon.

Perhaps you will meet another pet that has the same likes and loves as you. You might even become 'pet pals' with someone half a world away.

The best way to do that is to ask questions. Why did you choose a hermit crab as a pet? What do sugar gliders eat? What do ferrets like to play with in their spare time?

Who knew just 10 years ago that we would be able to view and talk to someone 8 time zones away over the internet.

At Pet Central, we try to introduce new ways of communicating and encourage your participation in our global community through technology. Our sites are built on extremely pliable platforms that allow us to expand and add new features to keep your experience with us fun and engaging.

We have new applications that are currently in development that will allow even more interactivity, increasing mobility for easier access and includes fun features that will have built-in rewards for participation.
